My heart yearns for more Katherine Anne Porter

That’s it, that’s the post. Really, though, Pale Horse, Pale Rider is one of the most beautiful short stories I’ve ever read. The dream sequences especially were so vivid and even magical, they practically took my breath away. The tenderness and realness of Miranda and Adam’s relationship, too, which of course made the ending all the more heartbreaking and bittersweet.

Anyway, I’ve added a complete collection of Porter’s short stories to my “want to read” bookshelf. I need more!!

  1. Yeah sounds about right like…the apple…the death…its just, highly impactful in the oddest way possible…Also a better love story legs than whatever Ehemingway was on. Proabably on acholol.

  2. I also really enjoyed reading “Pale Horse, Pale Rider”. I also thought that Miranda and Adam’s relationship was very real. It sucks that Adam died. I feel like it all goes back to the reality that even when wars are over, no one is really winning when people are dying on all sides of the war.
