I really like in the first couple paragraph’s (I mentioned this in class too) how Borden signs the entry text as “The Author”. I feel like she really stepped away from her role as someone to focus on, Mary herself, individualize the tales, but gave more light to the realities of war.
Dr. Scanlon had a supplementary point, claiming that Borden also referred to herself at lot in the text, using “I” and explaining her choices.
I found the contrast to be profound, looking forward to the rest of the text.
