Really, though, Pale Horse, Pale Rider is one of the most beautiful short stories I&#8217;ve ever read. The dream sequences especially were so vivid and even magical, they practically took my breath away. The tenderness and <em>realness<\/em> of Miranda and Adam&#8217;s relationship, too, which of course made the ending all the more heartbreaking and bittersweet.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, I&#8217;ve added a complete collection of Porter&#8217;s short stories to my &#8220;want to read&#8221; bookshelf.
